Lynne Chambers is a dedicated and experienced legal professional committed to upholding justice and serving the community. With a proven track record of integrity and leadership, Lynne is seeking to leverage her skills and passion for the community to become the next State's Attorney.

Background and Experience:

Lynne holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law, (specialist certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Litigation) and a master’s degree in social work (Child Welfare, emphasis) from Southern Illinois University, School of Social Work. Licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Missouri, Chambers has accumulated experience in various legal roles. Lynne interned in the Union County States Attorney’s Office, as well as a law clerk for the Honorable William Thurston. In addition, as a law student she was recognized for excellence in trial advocacy, oral argument, and preventative law.

Lynne’s experience as a defense attorney has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of both sides of the legal system, enabling her to approach cases with empathy and a balanced perspective.

Lynne has served as a trusted legal advisor to individuals and organizations, offering strategic counsel on legal matters and advocating for the rights and interests of her clients.

    If elected as State's Attorney, Lynne will prioritize:

  • Enhancing public safety through proactive crime prevention strategies and collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

  • Strengthening support for victims of crime and advocating for their rights within the criminal justice system.

  • Promoting fairness and equity in the prosecution of cases, addressing systemic issues, and advocating for criminal justice reform.

  • Implementing initiatives to combat substance abuse and support rehabilitation programs for offenders. 

  • Upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in the State's Attorney's office.
